Letter from the President |
ear Friends,
It has been ten years since The Grace Children's Foundation (TGCF) took its first steps toward fulfilling the vision of helping orphaned and disadvantaged children in China. I have been honored to stand with these children in the realization of this vision.
We are grateful for the care and expertise generously provided to the children by countless professionals as well as the support from individuals, family foundations, corporations, volunteers, the film, airline and retail industries and manufacturers. I am also grateful to the youth of America who inspire me every day to follow the vision.
Observing the world over this past decade, I have learned that the problem is not a lack of resources but a lack of organization as well as the establishment of a smooth channel for delivery of the resources. The problem is universal.
TGCF is in China to share what we have and what we have learned. We are privileged to be a part of this effort to help organize what the Chinese have already put into motion on behalf of the children.
Many outstanding efforts are underway to serve those in need but there has been no one center of operations for philanthropic resources that serve children living in orphanages and foster homes and other disadvantaged children.
Through the establishment of TGCF's Resource Exchange Center (REC) in Beijing and with the cooperation of our partners we will harness, coordinate and further develop philanthropic resources relating to TGCF's programs and deliver them to the children in need.
From this Center professional caregivers and supporters may continue to contribute their expertise, assistance and funds to the children in a systematic approach, one that assures the most efficient path in connecting the need to the remedy.
One thing I have learned on this incredible journey, the reason for my tenacity, is that I am not satisfied with the way things have been going in this world. With all that we have we are not doing enough on behalf of children everywhere.
I know that if we come together, if we listen to and respect one another and do the best we can, we can change the outcome for children in need. We can change this world for the better. This is my purpose. I have dedicated my life to it.
Sincerely,

Nancy Robertson
